Contractors Pair with Local High School on Building Future Labor Force

Collaboration centers on the development of the HVAC component of training space so that students can be better prepared for a career in the trades through participation in one two Certified Pre-Apprenticeship programs in Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee and Southeastern Wisconsin Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Association (PMC) and Sheetmetal and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (SMACCA), along with contractor members JM Brennan and TOTAL Mechanical and local manufacturers representative Air Flow, have partnered with Wauwatosa East High School to develop Tosa East鈥檚 learning laboratory further to prepare better the building and construction trades鈥 labor force of the future. 

These organizations have collaborated on developing the HVAC component of its technical training space so that students can be better prepared for a career in the building trades through participating in one of only two Certified Pre-Apprenticeship (鈥淐PA鈥) programs in Wisconsin.

鈥淎t Tosa East, we are very proud of our program. The students are building a solid foundation, and it鈥檚 all due to the partners we have,鈥 said Craig Griffie, the technical educational teacher at Wauwatosa East High School and the coordinator of the CPA program. ]
